The Theramedix Thera-blendTM
Theramedix uses an exclusive Thera-blend
TM process for its protease, lipase, amylase and cellulase products.
This means that each of these enzyme products consist of multiple strains of enzymes. For example, there
are four protease strains present in the Thera-blend
TM protease. These four strains have been carefully
selected by examining the pharmacological research and choosing protease strains that are able to break
protein bonds at varying pH levels-as one might find in the human digestive and metabolic system.*
Most other enzyme products contain only one strain of enzyme. What happens when that enzyme is in an
area of the digestive tract that has a pH outside of it's activity range? The enzyme is not able to
break protein bonds, and thus remains inactive in that area of the body. Thera-blend
TM enzyme products,
on the other hand, are specially formulated to be active across the entire range of pH's that might be present
in the digestive tract and metabolic system.*
Figure 2 illustrates how multiple strains of one type of enzyme (such as protease)
enhance the range of activity for Thera-blendTM. Notice that there are three strains of protease shown.
All have a slightly different optimal pH at normal body temperature. By combining the three we are able
to achieve greater activity over a broader pH range (this is not an exact graph, but simply meant to
illustrate the benefit of Thera-blendTM.
